26/01/2006 Haguro seeks evolution in 2006
Traditionally, Haguro FC visits Zico Football Center every year for a training and interchange period. The Japanese school team´s physical coach is the Brazilian Jerônymo Vasquez, who believes that these days are very helpful to the kids. This year, things were not different and he brought the boys for a series of practices with Rio CFZ´s professionals and several friendlies.
Haguro arrived in Rio on January 14 and left the city last Wednesday afternoon, after twelve days of practices, when the team played four friendlies with three victories and only one defeat. Haguro smashed twice: 7-1 and 10-0 against two local teams. The Japanese team lost for Rio CFZ´s youth squad by 5-4.
“This year, we have a great group, but no star in squad. Our spirit counterbalances the lack of technique”, Jerônymo analyzed. He also told that the year of 2005 wasn’t very good for the team, which at least sustained a place in the Prince League, an important high school tournament. The team had to guarantee its permanence against the Yamagata champion by tying two matches, in 1-1 and 2-2.
In February, Haguro will return to Zico Football Center for another period of practices aiming the 2006 season.
